BL Fisher

I write for the kids who carry lanterns into the dark.

As a kid, I was drawn to worlds that felt bigger than the one I could see—worlds where unlikely heroes discovered courage, ordinary moments became extraordinary quests, and where hope, once found, could push back the darkness.

That love never left.

Today, I’m both a writer and an educator. After years of teaching and working with young readers and adults, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful stories can be in shaping imagination, resilience, and thoughtful conversation. Middle-grade readers are capable of extraordinary things, and I want to help them along the way.

The world of Nethernor explores the friction between unity and control, the weight of distorted truths, and the quiet source of hope in uncertain times. Through flickering lanterns, fractured light, and reluctant heroes, my aim is simple: to tell adventures that are thrilling, layered, and ultimately hopeful.

I've been described as jolly and whimsical, and I'm okay with that.

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me teaching, playing tabletop games with my friends and family, or building new corners of an imaginary place.

If you enjoy thoughtful fantasy that respects young minds and believes courage often happens in the every-day, welcome to the Lightforge.
